Have you seen a house being lifted? It contains information about lifting a constructed house with the help of many jacks without breaking it.
Till date we have seen vehicles like buses, cars, trucks etc. being lifted with the help of jacks but have you seen a constructed house being lifted with the help of a jack?
Now such technology has come in which the entire house is lifted eight to ten feet above the ground with the help of a jack and a new plinth level is created.
This process takes about a month and the cost involved in this is much less than breaking the house and building a new one.
To lift the house, first the floor of the entire house is broken. Then the soil is removed from beneath each wall and a new wall is started to be built from beneath it. Along with building the wall, many jacks and channels are installed on it.
When jacks are installed beneath all the walls of the house, then they are slowly lifted up by rotating them. Simultaneously, the height of the wall is increased, and the empty space is filled with soil.
This way, when the plinth level of the house reaches the decided height, the jacks are removed. After this, new flooring is laid in the house. This way, the house is raised to the desired height from the ground in its old form.
This technique has proved to be especially beneficial for those people who do not want to demolish their house at any cost just because they have many memories associated with it.
