History of Karni Mata Mandir

History of Karni Mata Mandir, it is about the various stages of the development of the Gumbhara of Karni Mata where Karni Mata lived for a long time.

History of Karni Mata Mandir

Karni Mata left her body on Chaitra Shukla Navami Samvat 1595 i.e. 23 March 1538 at the age of 151 years, after which her idol was installed in the same dome of Deshnok in which she used to live.

She herself built this dome with her own hands. Later, with the passage of time, a temple was built on top of this dome and it developed.

Maharaja Rao Jaitsi, Surat Singh and Ganga Singh of Bikaner contributed to the construction of this temple. Rao Jaitsi built a temple of raw bricks on top of the dome.

Surat Singh got this raw construction cemented and gave a new look to the temple and also built the temple's rampart and main entrance.

During the time of Maharaj Ganga Singh, the door of the temple was decorated with artistic work of marble. In this way, this temple is the place where Mata resides and which was developed by many kings and Seths.

There are so many rats in the temple that it has been named as Rat Temple. These rats are called Kaba. Kaba means Karni Mata's child (Karni Mata Ka Bachcha), that is, these rats are considered to be Karni Mata's children.

It is believed that all these rats are descendants of Karni Mata who were once born in the Charan clan of Mata. Among these thousands of rats, some rats are white in colour, out of which four rats are considered to be Karni Mata's sons.
