Why is Kalika Mata Amarsar famous? It is about miraculous temple of Kalka Mata whose Mandir is located in the hills near Amarsar town in Jaipur.
Kalika Mata temple is situated on a hill amidst the Aravali hills near Amarsar town. The natural beauty of this place captivates the mind during the rainy season.
There are 451 steps for the pilgrims to reach the temple and a cement road for vehicles. This road is in a spiral form.
There is a grand dome in the temple, resting on many pillars. Beautiful images of many gods and goddesses are engraved on the roof of this dome.
Kalka Mata can be seen in front. An eternal flame keeps burning at some distance from the idol of Mata. Parts of the mountain can be seen beside it. This idol of Mata, situated in the form of a Pindi, is said to be self-created.
It is said that in the times of kings and emperors, the idol of Kali Mata used to speak. In Amarsar and the surrounding areas, it is worshipped as the Kul Devi.
According to a legend, a woodcutter lived here a long time ago. He was a devotee of Mata and used to worship rats, considering them to be the form of Mata. Once, on his request, the Goddess appeared before him.
On the request of the woodcutter, the Goddess stayed here in the form of a Pindi. Later, the woodcutter built a temple at this place.
Only Satvik material is offered as Prasad in the temple. Meat, alcohol and animal-bird sacrifice are strictly prohibited in the temple.
