Why is Karni Mata Nehdi Ji Mandir famous? It is about another temple of Karni Mata in Deshnok where she came from Sathika and started to live here.
Karni Mata was born in Jodhpur's Suwap village in Vikram Samvat 1444 on Ashwin Shukla Saptami in a Charan family. Her father's name was Mehaji and mother's name was Deval Bai.
Her childhood name was Riddhibai. Due to her miracles at an early age, she was considered Karni i.e. miraculous, due to which she became famous as Karni Mata.
When Karni Mata grew up, she was married to Depaji of Sathika village. Karni Mata showed her Bhagwati form to her husband and distanced herself from married life and got her husband married to her younger sister Gulab bai.
After some time, Karni Mata came from Sathika and started living in Nehri ji (Nehdi Ji) near Deshnok. At that time, this place used to be a pasture for animals.
Here she planted the dry wood of Khejri in the ground to churn curd and made it green by sprinkling curd.
This Khejri tree is still present, under which the idol of Karni Mata is present. It is believed that many diseases are cured by the bark of this tree.
Let us tell you that two things are used for churning curd, the first thing with which curd is churned is called Jherna and the second thing that is planted in the ground and with its help Jherna is rotated with a rope is called Nehri (Nehdi).
Karni Mata turned the dry wood of Khejri planted as Nehri into a green tree. This tree gradually became famous as Nehri and now since a temple has been built here, it is called Nehri (Nehdi) Dham.
There is also a cave at this place in which Mata used to do meditation. Now this cave looks like a basement in which a Shivling is present.
