Why is Shakambhari Mata Mandir famous? It is about the temple of the Kuldevi of the Chauhan dynasty of Ajmer in the middle of the Sambhar Lake.
In the middle of the salty water Sambhar Lake, which produces the most salt in India, there is the Siddha Shakti Peeth of Shakambhari Mata, which is also known as Sambhavi and Samrai Mata.
The temple of Mata is built on a corner of the hill in the middle of Sambhar Lake. It is believed that the idol of the goddess appeared from this mountain, so in a way the whole mountain is worshiped as a goddess.
Inside the temple, Mataji sits in the sanctum sanctorum with beautiful glass workmanship. The decorated idol of Mataji is quite big and grand, but this is not the self-manifested idol of Mata.
The original self-manifested idol of Mata is hidden behind the decoration of this idol, so devotees see this idol instead of the original idol of Mata. It is said that the knee of the self-manifested idol of the mother goddess is worshipped in the temple.
In front of the temple, inside the lake, there is a temple of Lakhadia Bhairava. Earlier, he was called Langadia Bhairava. It is said that it is necessary to have darshan of him after the darshan of the mother goddess, otherwise the darshan of the mother goddess is considered incomplete.
There is a cenotaph built on the hill adjacent to it behind the temple. This cenotaph was built by the Mughal emperor Jahangir. An article of that time is also written inside the cenotaph.
From the cenotaph, there is a beautiful view of the Sambhar Lake. When the water level in the lake is low, white land mixed with salt is visible all around.
There is no greenery anywhere in the entire lake except this hill. Inside the lake, you will see people doing adventure by driving cars and bikes at full speed.
