India's first graphic animation biopic short film based on the life of Padmashree Gulabo Sapera, the world famous Kalbelia dancer who made Rajasthan famous all over the world due to her art, is ready for release.
The film tells the struggles that started from the birth of a woman, how she defeated death as soon as she was born and despite being illiterate and nomadic, became a world-famous artist with her passion and got the honor of Padmashree.
Along with showing the success achieved by the hard work and dedication of Gulabo Sapera, the film also touches upon topics like female foeticide, Beti Bachao along with women empowerment.
This film has been made by Professor Rajendra Vasant Khairnar and Ketan Madhukar Deore, who come from small villages of Maharashtra. Both of them are animation experts as well as its producer directors.
After teaching animation in many universities for 20 years and working in this field, they have made this unique animation film on a socially sensitive topic to give a message to the society.
This film is different from a cartoon film despite being completely graphics and animated. Hand-made digital images and paintings have been used throughout the film.
