Places to visit in Sambhar Lake, it is about places to visit in Sambhar Lake like Shakambhari Mata, Devyani and Sharmishtha Kund, Dadu Dayal Cenotaph.
Sambhar Lake is a historical place spread over an area of about 200 square kilometers, where there are four mythological religious places which you must visit.
Among these religious places, the name of Shakambhari Mata temple comes first. In the middle of the lake, there is a Siddha Shakti Peeth in the form of Shakambhari Mata Temple, which is also known as Sambhavi and Samrai Mata apart from Shakambhari. Mata is considered to be the Kuldevi of the Chauhan dynasty of Ajmer.
After the temple of Shakambhari Mata, the second name is Devyani Kund. Devyani was the daughter of Daityaguru Shukracharya, due to which this Kund has been given the status of the grandmother of all the pilgrimages.
Devyani Kund is considered to be a holy pilgrimage place. There are more than a dozen ghats built around the pond and many temples, one of which is of Devyani herself.
It is said that after the Mahabharata war, Ashwatthama did penance and took a bath at this place. Even today, Ashwatthama's platform is built on the pond and it is said that he did penance sitting on this platform.
The third name after Devyani Kund is Sharmishtha Sarovar. Sharmishtha was the daughter of demon king Vrishparva and wife of King Yayati. Sharmishtha Sarovar is also considered very sacred but its importance has become very less in front of Devyani Sarovar.
The fourth name after Sharmishtha Sarovar is of the meditation place of Saint Dadu Dayal. Saint Dadu Dayal's meditation place is built in the form of a cenotaph in the middle of Sambhar Lake. It is said that Dadu Dayal did penance at this place for 12 years. Footprints of Dadu Dayal are imprinted inside the chhatri.
Dadu Dayal is called the Kabir of Rajasthan. To reach this chhatri, one has to go through a path made between the salt beds.
