Goverdhan Sagar Lake is an emerging tourist destination of Udaipur which is famous for its beauty, boating, garden and ship-shaped museum. This lake was built by Maharana Swaroop Singh in 1855 AD.
The three-storey Pannadhay Gallery Museum has been built in the shape of a ship on an island inside the lake, which is no less than a wonder. This museum is 40 feet wide and is spread over an area of about 800 square feet.
This ship standing in Goverdhan Sagar Lake does not rotate in the lake but definitely gives the tourists coming here a glimpse of the life of Pannadhay along with the glorious history of Mewar.
In the lowest part of the ship is the Pannadhay Gallery Museum in which the sacrifice of Pannadhay is depicted through models. A 20-minute film related to the heroic saga of Panna Dhay is also shown in it.
There is a restaurant on the top floor where tourists can enjoy food and drinks. The topmost floor of the ship is a photography point from where a splendid view of the lake can be seen.
A D park has been built on one side of the Govardhan Sagar lake which is known as Panna Dhay Park. In this park, there are statues of Panna Dhay along with her son Chandan and Kunwar Uday Singh.
The statue of Panna Dhay is 9.6 feet, the statue of Uday Singh is 5.6 feet and the statue of Panna Dhay's son Chandan is 4.11 feet. The total weight of all the three statues is 1130 kg.
